Tech Stack: Google, Xtract One and more
Xtract One Technologies, a leader in threat detection and security solutions, has announced that its SmartGateway System has been selected for use at CPKC Stadium, the under-construction home of the National Women’s Soccer League team, Kansas City Current.
Xtract One’s security measures aim to enhance venue safety, minimize wait times, and foster an enhanced fan experience at the stadium. The technology uses AI-powered sensors to detect threats without invading fans’ privacy and comfort.
CPKC Stadium will be the first venue purpose-built for an NWSL team, with a capacity of 11,500 and slated to open in 2024.
In another realm, technology giant Google has expanded its partnership with Hollywood Park, the sports and entertainment destination home to SoFi Stadium, to launch a new on-site Code Next Lab.
Google will design, build, and open the facility, which will serve as a free, immersive computer science education program to develop the next generation of Black, Latino/Hispanic, and Indigenous tech leaders.
The Code Next Lab will open in 2024 and provide students with access to live coaches, technical equipment, and an educational curriculum. This initiative builds on the existing partnership Google has with Hollywood Park, covering SoFi Stadium and YouTube Theater, a 6,000-seat venue that opened in 2021.
In the professional sports world, cloud-driven networking company Extreme Networks has announced that the Philadelphia Flyers and Winnipeg Jets NHL teams will deploy its Extreme Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E-ready solutions.
The deployment at the Flyers’ Wells Fargo Center arena, also the home of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, will be completed in partnership with Comcast Business. The solutions will also be rolled out at the Jets’ Canada Life Centre.
In an effort to enhance the fan experience, the Flyers have also partnered with Suite Experience Group to streamline the suite reservation process at Wells Fargo Center. Fans can now book suites directly via FlyersSuites.com, an ecommerce platform designed to provide a seamless experience for customers to view and purchase suites through an instant booking process.
Additionally, the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team has entered into a partnership with AI chat platform ON.
The partnership aims to enhance the game-day experience for fans, with the ON platform now live on Jaguars.com to provide a range of chat services for supporters, whether they are at the stadium or not.
The platform will answer questions related to player stats, guide fans around areas of EverBank Stadium on game days, provide parking information, exclusive videos, score updates, and team news.
Ticketing technology platform Lyte has launched the Lyte Returnable Ticket, which it claims is the industry’s first business-class and end-to-end ticketing platform.
The platform integrates returnability and fair market pricing into the ticket-buying experience, which Lyte says will elevate event ecommerce for fans and event creators alike.
